I became a features writer for Thrillist in 2015, under the pen name Amanda Cobra. I have since written almost 50 dining, lifestyle and travel pieces for them. I have also acted as a photographer for some of my own articles.
In 2016, they began to collaborate with major brands to create sponsored content. I have been one of the primary writers for that sponsored content since the program launched. I have written cobranded pieces for companies such as GMC, Starbucks, Jack Daniels and Coca Cola.
In this co-branded piece, Coca Cola wanted to position themselves not only as an iconic American brand but also show their versatility as a product which caters to the tastes of people of every region, ethnicity, age and taste profile. We teamed with them to identify distinctive regional culinary traditions and how chefs around the country are putting their own unique spin on those traditional dishes.
This piece was awarded Brandtale’s Best of the Week recognition for campaign content, alongside cobranded campaigns by Time Inc. + Ford and Target + Apartment Therapy.
My career at Colliers began in the brokerage department as an industrial commercial real estate broker. But I realized quickly that writing and content creation was still my passion. I transitioned to the marketing team where I created content for collateral, websites, BOVs (broker’s opinion of value), RFP (request for proposals), quarterly market reports and all social media.
As the Marketing Content Manager, I have been in charge of all content for the primary brand (First American Payment Systems) as well as nine subsidiaries. Those subsidiaries deal with facets of the payments industry ranging from ISV, ISO, POS, community banking, merchant services and non-profit donation processing. This included all social media and website copy as well as blogs, infographics, whitepapers, case studies, collateral materials and thought leadership pieces.

Pegasus Technology Solutions is an end-to-end technology solutions provider offering Managed IT Services, IT Integration and Cloud Integration Business Tools.
I was tasked with writing their website copy as well as bios of every member of the Pegasus team. They were so satisfied with the bios that I teamed with them again to write the content for their email nurturing and lead generation campaigns for each one of their products and solutions.
In 2016, I was hired to create all social media content for Planet Fitness Canada and write for their Planet of Triumphs series, which dealt with fitness success stories from members.
I created this content until, in 2017, Planet Fitness consolidated their US and Canadian content and social media accounts under one North American umbrella.
